Brass darkens and warms with handling, and that is the point. Aluminum stays bright and weighs less. Both are cast from the same sculpt, so the detail is the same either way.
This is the part of the line that is truly handmade. The boards are machined for precision. The handles are cast by hand because that is where the hand belongs, in the sculpture and the pour. They thread into any Burnt End Board in about a minute and move between boards whenever you like.

Looking after it
- Wipe them down after the cook. Soap and water is plenty.
- Brass darkens with handling. That is the patina, leave it.
- Aluminum stays bright on its own.
The price
The price is the sculpt and the pour. Each set is cast by hand in Utah from a single sculpt, finished, and threaded to fit every board we make. Brass wears in and gets better the more you carry it. Buy one set and it will outlast the board.
