The board this company was built to make. Thirty-two inches of edge-grain hardwood, a juice groove cut for a whole packer, flat and point, and a clean flat back for serving the spread.

It is heavy on purpose. A board that slides while you carry a knife through bark is worse than useless, so this one has the mass to stay planted. It is cut on a CNC machine in our Salt Lake City shop, which is not a shortcut. It is the reason the groove fits a whole packer and the surface comes off dead flat, board after board.
Threaded inserts on the underside accept our hand-cast handles, so you can carry it to the table with a bull's head in each fist. Oil it when it looks thirsty and never put it in the dishwasher. This is the last brisket board you will buy.

How it is made
Hand-selected wood. Cut in Salt Lake City.
We pick the wood, cut and flatten it on the CNC, drill and thread it for the handles, sand it, and oil it. The handles are sculpted and cast by hand in Utah.
Looking after it
- Wash by hand, never the dishwasher.
- Dry it standing on edge so both faces dry evenly.
- Oil it when it looks thirsty.
- Keep it out of standing water and direct sun.
The price
The price is the materials and the making. Edge-grain walnut or maple, an inch and an eighth thick, cut in our Salt Lake City shop to a tolerance that makes the groove fit a full packer. It is heavy, it is flat, and it is built to last longer than the smoker you own now. Spread across a lifetime of cooks, it is one of the cheaper things at the party.
